Paso Robles High School Audio/Video (@PRHSAV) Productions students engage their multimedia careers starting their 9th grade year by taking our introductory course and move into their career with job shadows and internships by the third course in the pathway.
AV2 870101 Audio/Video Productions is our second year concentration course and is a FINE ART at PRHS. Qualifying students can also get 3 units of Cuesta College credit for FTVE 223 through Dual Enrollment. Projects guide students through a constructivist and engaging, hands-on series of digital audio and video experiences. Whether cinematic, documentary, animated, or other mode of storytelling, students in this course fill an impressive skills toolbox of production software and equipment including Autodesk 3Ds Max, Adobe CS6 (Photoshop, Audition, Premiere, After Effects, and Encore), and Google Apps for Education.
AV3 870201 Producer’s Practicum expands students’ serious minds by challenging their producing abilities and supporting them into practical job shadowing and local internship opportunities when available. Students add capstone-quality cinematic productions to their portfolio in time to submit to the SLO International Film Festival (December) and SkillsUSA contests (February). They also produce for local clients and are responsible for CRIMSON Weekly student newscasts.
Crimson Daily Broadcast 870301 Students in the Broadcast class produce PRHS’ daily video announcements at a professional pace. This 100% hands-on, learn-by-doing class provides a campus service while quickly building students’ portfolio of productions.
