“My dad, Carlos, was diagnosed with cancer around a year ago. It was hard for me and my family because we were so worried about him. He was feeling really weak and was having trouble even moving or talking before the doctors diagnosed him. The operation was 7 hours of continuous surgery, so it was very dangerous. I imagine some people in the area weren’t as lucky after being diagnosed with that type of cancer. In the beginning, it was really difficult for our family to accommodate my dad’s new situation after the surgery. However, he seemed to feel a little better with each passing day. Carlos was also leading a healthier lifestyle to prevent the tumor from expanding. My dad had to take medicine, so he was he was more irritable and sensitive than usual. We had to treat him a little differently, as in particularly well, because we knew what he was going through. Now, he’s in perfect health, and doesn’t need any more treatment.”
